The Umbra Wobble Chess Set delivers a chess set like no other, since with its concave landscape, this set brings a whole new level of excitement to the game, and the freely quivering chess pieces add a lively interaction between the board and the pieces. It's the ultimate showpiece for your living room, proving a centuries-old strategy game can feel genuinely fresh and unexpected. Place it on the center of your living room coffee table or store it in your favorite entertainment area as a beautiful solid wood accent piece just begging to be played with. Whether you're hosting a weekend chess match, gifting a chess-loving friend, or simply want a striking conversation piece for the coffee table, Wobble delivers playful design with genuine craftsmanship. This thoughtfully engineered set is more than just a board game. Crafted with care, this prize-winning Chess Set is made of beautifully polished maple and walnut wood, and thanks to its concave landscape, the weighted playing pieces can freely move around, adding an extra element of challenge and strategy. Measuring at 14.88 by 14.88 by 4.5 inches, this Wobble Chess Set is the perfect size to fit in any space, and received an Award of Merit from HOW Magazine's 2008 International Design Award competition, with design by Adin Mumma bringing genuine pedigree to game night. Wood is a unique natural material with variations in tone, texture, and grain, so each set carries its own subtle character. Umbra designs with practicality, innovation, and everyday problem-solving at its core. Our team of international designers brings thought, creativity and original design to everyday items, and Umbra products are made to last using high quality materials.
